Greetings fellow Sackvillians and friends of
Sackville!
Welcome
to Episode 10 of Stories from Sackville.
This
is our first ever New Year's Eve Christmas episode. Sort of. We begin and end
with New Year's Eve, but we do go off on some tangents.
Peter instantly ages us by calling people 35 and under "kids". And we begin by paying homage to the disc jockey Geoff Banks who introduced us to so much music as we grew up. As Steve says in the show, he hasn't been able to find any info on Geoff Banks, so if anyone has an update on him please share it with us.
Peter
speaks on the Civil Rights movement and touches on Nova Scotian history. Steve
tells a story about his grandfather and touches on the history of Halifax.
Y'all might learn something in this episode!
So
we hope you and yours have a great New Year's Eve (whether you go out and
par-tay down or fall asleep at 10:00), and, of course, all the best in the new
year.
As
always, we hope that this stimulates more discussion, so we encourage you all
to tell us, on the Facebook page, stories about your favourite New Year's Eve
or Geoff Banks memories.
You can e-mail us with questions, suggestions,
or comments at: storiesfromsackville@gmail.com, and you can find us on the Stories From Sackville Facebook
page.
