Greetings fellow Sackvillians and friends of
Sackville!
Welcome
to Episode 13 of Stories from Sackville.
In
today’s episode, we begin a two part discussion about some favourite television
shows from the 1980s. As with episodes 2 and 3 (on tv shows of the 1970s), we’ve
decided to pick four television shows (we’re not gonna tell you which ones –
you’ll have to listen); we’ll talk about two in this episode and the other two
in Episode 14.
Steve
talks about historical inaccuracies and World War Two. He also reveals a bit of
self-plagiarism on the part of one television writer.
Peter
talks about one of the iconic television shows and characters of the 1980s.
Sun, cars, and Vietnam are just some of the topics he touches on.
As
always, we hope that this stimulates more discussion, so we encourage you all
to tell us, on the Facebook page, what were some of your favourite tv shows and
your thoughts on the two shows we discuss this week.
And,
as always, thanks to all of you who have commented so far.
You can e-mail us with questions, suggestions,
or comments at: storiesfromsackville@gmail.com.
